Motivation

SFD conducts motivational workshops in rehabilitation centers, focusing on inspiring individuals with disabilities to become independent and productive members of society. These workshops also aim to instill confidence and equip participants with the mindset required to overcome challenges.

– Formation of a National Disabled Association to address workplace challenges, lobby for fair representation, and advocate for inclusive national policies from the grassroots to the national level.

Family Counselling

Family counselling is an integral part of SFD’s approach to empowering disabled individuals. By addressing emotional, financial, and social challenges, SFD helps families understand their roles in supporting disabled members.

– Providing information on accessing services for treatment, training, and employment.

– Educating families on eliminating misconceptions and fostering an environment of growth and productivity.

– Sharing case studies and practical advice to help families empower disabled members to become valuable contributors to society.

Advocacy and Counseling

SFD’s advocacy and counselling programs are designed to combat ignorance, fear, and superstition surrounding disabilities. Through a comprehensive approach, SFD raises awareness and encourages inclusivity.

– Social mobilization and public awareness campaigns via personal contact, meetings, seminars, and media outreach.

– Distributing up-to-date information on disability programs and services to individuals, families, and professionals.

– Facilitating interaction between government organizations, civil society, and stakeholders to ensure support for disabled individuals.

– Counselling family members to address superstitions and create supportive environments.

Innovative Methodology:

– Introducing a colour-coded system to categorize disabilities for better identification and targeted support (e.g., Red for the mentally retarded, White for the blind, Yellow for the deaf and dumb, and Green for the physically disabled).
